Otley Street Festival 2011

A huge thanks to everyone who helped and attended the biggest and best Otley Street Festival yet.

The festival has grown from year to year, featuring the best young musical talent that Otley has to offer, an increase in variety of street performers and exciting new fun attractions, such as an inflatable climbing wall.
The Newmarket Street Festival originated four years ago in a very small and intimate way as a ‘thank you’ from the retailers on Newmarket who felt that they wanted to give something back to the community. From then its grown year on year taking on a much wider and greater aspect. Hence the reason it  changed it’s name from the Newmarket Festival.

The Otley Street Festival Organisation originally had a dual aim, to raise the awareness of Otley as a unique market town being a fantastic place to visit and to aid tourism, with the spin-off of helping local business. It has now also become a beacon for young local talent within our community, giving young bands possibly their first taste of performing on a stage to such a large audience.

The great Punch & Judy show were back again this year, along with the all-time favourite bouncy castle, the new inflatable climbing wall, stilt walkers, face painter, unicyclist/ Juggler and living statue and, of course, the shops will be open.

StudioSeven  had it’s 2nd Make Your Mark canvas. Proving just as popular as last year we had 49 people leaving their mark to help create the masterpiece.
